Project: Small Room, Big
World
Completion Date: January
1998
Objective: Create an edutainment
CD title targeting children ages 6-12. The planned setting was a children's
bedroom and almost the entire game was to be immersed within a 3-D environment.
Requirements included ease of use, strong educational value and an overall
exciting user experience.
Solution: Prior to the
conception of Eo Studios, founding members Tim Nackashi and Mark Magnarella
worked with developers in LA, California to create Small Room, Big World.
The CD-ROM title was developed almost entirely in
3-D. The user navigates through a child's bedroom where objects and characters
segue into 3-D interactive adventures. We developed six sections of the
game including the Ant Farm, Underwater Adventure, Music from Around the
World and the Magic Microscope. Our contributions include concept, story-board,
illustration, animation, interface design and audio production.
